Unique character marionettes, masterfully handcrafted – for 35 years. From Hamburg to Bavaria: for more than three decades, my workshop has been creating unique, handcrafted marionettes and meticulously detailed portrait puppets. Each figure is a one-of-a-kind original, brought to life with great attention to detail and expert craftsmanship.

What I offer: custom marionette making

Whether for collectors, enthusiasts or professional use, I can bring your ideas to life:

• Portrait marionettes made from photos: a truly personal, unforgettable gift created from your reference.
• Custom marionettes: figures made to your very own ideas and sketches.
• Professional marionettes: high-quality theatre puppets for puppet theatres, stage productions and film.
• Decorative showpieces: unique artistic puppets to catch the eye in your home or exhibition.

Dimensions and sizes of my artistic puppets

To suit every purpose, I make the figures in a range of standard and custom sizes:

• Compact standard size: 50–65 cm (weight: approx. 1.5–2 kg) – ideal for beginners and collectors.
• Large standard size: 65–75 cm (weight: approx. 2–3 kg) – perfect for a striking stage presence.
• Custom sizes: I’ll be happy to make bespoke large or small figures for you by arrangement.

The secret to lifelike marionettes: quality & craftsmanship

Every marionette is a handcrafted work of art from my workshop, made using natural materials whenever possible.

Lightweight and easy to operate

The secret to optimal control lies inside the figures. The heads are sculpted using a special multi-layer process. Thanks to an innovative special core, they remain pleasantly lightweight, allowing effortless, precise operation. Multiple protective surface coatings permanently protect the artistically applied finish from wear.

A lifelike gaze

For a soulful expression, I use custom-made porcelain eyes with genuine glass lenses. They give the figures the depth of a true artistic puppet. When I make a portrait marionette just for you, we can easily choose the precise eye colour in advance using a colour chart.
